Patrick Vacík

Born 1984 in Kempten, Germany, Patrick Vacík started to play the guitar at the age of eleven. In September 2000 he began his studies at the conservatory in Prague, Czech Republic, with Václav Kučera. He completed his studies in 2006 at the conservatory in Pardubice, Czech Republic, in the class of Petr Saidl. From October 2006 onwards he became a student at the Liszt School of Music in Weimar, Germany under Prof. Thomas Müller-Pering, with whom he has been preparing for his Duo Concert Examination, with Matěj Freml, since 2009. In addition to that, he has been preparing for the PhD. at the Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Prague, Czech Republic.

During his studies Patrick Vacík successfully took part in many national and international competitions (incl. Guitar Art Festival – Belgrade / Serbia, Guitar Competition John W. Duarte – Rust / Austria, Concorso E. Marcatali – Gorizia / Italy, etc.). Beside his solo performance, Patrick Vacík is also actively involved in chamber music.

In 2010 he became guitar professor at the Prague Conservatory and is also teaching chamber music at the Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Prague.
